Normally we steer customers away from painting a deck or porch floor because they just don’t really last. They crack and peel over a few years and look horrible afterward. We usually always encourage customers to use an oil based semi transparent stain on their deck. This particular deck had begun to peel just 6 short months after the previous contractor had painted it.
The homeowner wanted to sell the house and wanted a quick fix to sell. We pressure washed the deck, scraped and sanded all the imperfections, then we applied a peel bond primer and then we top coated the deck in a Slate Gray color.
